Kyoto Konversations
Kyoto Konversations
Kyoto Conversation is a multiplayer world for learning Japanese through play. Built with Blender and Astra MCP, it features characters, vehicles, Cloudflare hosting and an online lobby. HeyGen avatars and GPT-Live-1 power real-time conversations with NPCs.
Built with Astra
We used Astra as an active development agent throughout the creation of Kyoto Conversation—not simply as a coding assistant. Computer use: Astra navigated development tools and websites on our behalf. It handled tasks such as accessing HeyGen, completing the login and integration process, retrieving the required resources, working with Blender, and managing our Cloudflare deployment. 3D world creation: Through Blender MCP, Astra helped us build and manage the game world, characters, environmental assets and vehicles. Game development: Astra supported the creation of the gameplay logic, interactive learning mechanics and progression system. It also helped connect the finished world to an online multiplayer lobby. Cloud hosting: Astra managed the Cloudflare hosting workflow, allowing us to deploy the multiplayer experience online without manually handling every infrastructure step. Visual understanding: Astra interpreted visual information from our designs, Blender scenes and game interface. This helped us review the world, understand what was happening on screen and make visual changes throughout development. Real-time AI conversations: We integrated GPT-Live-1 with HeyGen avatars
